In the course, the importance of children's rights, regulations on children in Turkish and international law, basic issues such as custody, alimony, paternity, adoption are discussed. In addition, issues such as children's personality rights, engagement and marriage of children within the framework of civil law, management and protection of children's property are examined.

The aim of the child law course is to teach the basic concepts, principles and practices of child law and to teach students the legislation that includes the legal status, rights and protection of children. It is aimed that students will be able to analyze legal problems, apply the legislation and defend children's rights by adopting the principle of the best interest of children.
1. Has a command of the concept and importance of child law. Have knowledge about the place of children's rights in national and international legal systems.
2. Defines the legal status and capacity of children. Have knowledge about the acquisition and protection of the child's personality and types of legal capacity.
3. Analyzes the legal status of children in the family. Defines the rights and obligations of the child in the processes of engagement, marriage and divorce.
4. Has a command of alimony and paternity regulations regarding the child. He/she has a good command of caution, subsidiary and poverty alimony, paternity and adoption.
5. Has knowledge about the concept of custody and its applications. Has knowledge about the scope of the right of custody, the legal framework of joint custody and the relevant legal regulations.
6. Defines children's financial rights and asset management. Has knowledge about the legal regulations regarding the management, protection and use of children's property.
7. Analyzes current developments and debates in the field of child law. Develops critical thinking skills about existing legal regulations and offers solutions. Has the ability to work in the face of complex legal problems.
Week 1: Introduction to child law, importance, subject and sources of child law.
Week 2: Children's rights, national and international regulations, Convention on the Rights of the Child.
Week 3: The legal status of the child, the concept of child in law, the personality of the child and types of capacity.
Week 4: Protection of the child's personality and crimes against children.
Week 5: Engagement and marriage of the child, legal conditions and consequences.
Week 6: Divorce and the status of the child, the rights of children in the divorce process.
Week 7: Types of alimony, precautionary, subsidiary, poverty and support alimony.
Week 8: Paternity, blood relation, artificial insemination and adoption.
Week 9: Definition of custody, legal nature and scope of the right of custody.
Week 10: Joint custody, legal regulations and problems in practice.
Week 11: Management, use, expenditure and protection of children's property.
Week 12: General evaluation and current discussions on child law
