In the Law of Advocacy course, the nature and purpose of the legal profession, the requirements for admission to the profession of law, tasks that are compatible and incompatible with being a lawyer, legal internships, the rights and duties of lawyers, bar associations and the Turkish Bar Association, disciplinary actions against lawyers, the lawyer-client agreement, legal aid, lawyer's fees, power of attorney for lawsuits, cases requiring special authorization for the representative, the legal and criminal liability of lawyers, and the professional rules of the legal profession are covered.

The aim of the Law of Advocacy course is to ensure that students gain knowledge about the nature and purpose of the legal profession, the necessary conditions for practicing law, and the rights and obligations of lawyers before graduating. The course aims for students to graduate with the necessary information about the lawyer-client agreement, power of attorney for lawsuits, lawyer's fees, the responsibilities of lawyers, professional rules of advocacy, and professional ethics.
1. Familiarizes with the values and principles of the advocacy (justice, legal security, fairness, the rule of honesty, etc.) and can prioritize which principle should be emphasized in protecting the client's interests.
2. Identifies concrete legal conflicts of interest or issues in cases brought before judicial bodies, finds the appropriate legal norm for the problem, and uses reasoning methods to apply the concrete case to the abstract rule and reach a legal conclusion.
3. Masters the fundamental concepts of advocacy law, its position within the legal discipline, its basic principles, and its regulations in positive law, applying them to concrete cases.
4. Stays informed about general developments in national legal regulations regarding the advocacy law and can propose solutions to current legal issues.
5. Assert rights in both claim and defense aspects in judicial and ensures their enforcement.
6. Recognizes obligations, such as the duty to refuse a case, and makes decisions in compliance with legal ethics, implementing those decisions.
7. Works both individually and in teams when dealing with complex legal issues.
Week 1: Theoretical foundations of advocacy law, the concept and status of advocacy
Week 2: The right of defense in the context of the functions performed by the advocate and the advocate's role
Week 3: Legal internship, conditions for admission to the internship, entrance exams for legal professions
Week 4: Characteristics of the attornership, public service and free profession status
Week 5: Conditions for admission to the advocacy, jobs compatible and incompatible with being an advocate
Week 6: Cost-sharing and legal partnerships for advocates
Week 7: The rights and powers of an advocate, particularly the right to request fees
Week 8: The obligations of an advocate, especially the duty to refuse a case
Week 9: Representation by an advocate, conditions for representation by an advocate, the obligation of advocate representation
Week 10: Termination of representation by a advocate, particularly dismissal and resignation
Week 11: The legal, criminal, and disciplinary responsibility of an advocate
Week 12: The organization of the legal profession, bar associations, and the Union of Turkish Bar Associations
