Course Description
In the course, legal regulations related to construction activities, the establishment of the construction contract, the rights and obligations of the parties in construction contracts, legal responsibilities arising from zoning legislation and building projects, the termination of the construction contract and the legal consequences of the termination are examined.

Course Objectives
The aim of the construction law course is to familiarize students with the basic concepts, principles and application areas of construction law. Within the scope of the course, topics such as construction contracts, rights and obligations of the parties, building licensing process, liability arising from defects, default and dispute resolution methods are discussed and it is aimed that students gain the ability to think analytically and make legal evaluations in the field of construction law. In addition, by emphasizing the relationship between construction law and other branches of law, it is aimed that students will be able to identify complex legal issues and produce solutions.
Course Outcomes
1. Has a command of the definition and legal nature of construction contracts and their differences from similar contracts.
2. Recognizes and distinguishes the form requirements and basic elements of construction contracts. Interpret construction contracts.
3. Understands the rights and obligations of the parties in construction contracts.
4. Defines the concepts of incomplete performance and defective performance in construction law and distinguishes the difference between them.
5. Compare the reasons for the termination of construction contracts and their legal consequences.
6. Have the ability to follow current judicial decisions regarding cases arising from construction law.
Tentative Course Plan
Week 1: Definition of construction contract, its elements and its difference from similar contracts
Week 2: Forms of construction contract.
Week 3: Regulation, form and proof of the construction contract.
Week 4: Parties to the construction contract.
Week 5: Contractor's rights and obligations.
Week 6: The distinction between incomplete performance and defective performance in construction law
Week 7: Rights and obligations of the business owner.
Week 8: Occupational accidents and occupational diseases in construction law.
Week 9: Builder (construction creditor) mortgage
Week 10: Adaptation of construction contract.
Week 11: Termination of the construction contract.
Week 12: Lawsuits arising from disputes arising from construction law.
