In this course, the subjects of nationality law and foreigners law are discussed. Within the scope of nationality law, the concept of citizenship, general principles and sources of nationality law, acquisition and loss of Turkish citizenship, consequences of acquisition and loss of citizenship and proof of citizenship are examined. Within the scope of foreigners' law, the concept of foreigner, general principles of foreigners’ law, the legal status of foreigners in international conventions and the fundamental rights and freedoms of foreigners in Turkish law are examined.

The aim of the course is to teach the basic issues related to nationality law and foreigners law, and to evaluate the problems arising in these areas within the framework of international treaties, national legislation, doctrine and court decisions.
1. Defines the concept of nationality.
2. Masters the general principles of citizenship law.
3. Explains the relationship between the Constitution and citizenship law.
4. Solves the problems related to multiple citizenship and statelessness.
5. Knows the ways of acquisition and loss of Turkish citizenship and solves the disputes arising in these matters.
6. Explains the proof of Turkish citizenship, judicial remedy and other issues of citizenship law.
7. Defines the concepts of foreigner, minority, refugee, immigrant and foreigner with special status.
8. Determines the system and principles accepted in granting rights to foreigners.
9. Explains the relationship between the Constitution and Turkish foreigners law.
10. Classifies the rights of foreigners in Turkey and determines which rights they can benefit from in Turkey.

Week 5: Ordinary and Extraordinary Acquisition of Turkish Citizenship
Week 6: Acquisition of Turkish Citizenship through Re-acquisition, Marriage, Adoption, Exercise of the Right to Vote
Week 7: Loss of Turkish Citizenship
Week 8: Correction of Material Errors, Proof of Turkish Citizenship
Week 9: Systems and Principles Regarding the Rights and Obligations of Foreigners
Week 10: Constitutional Principles of Turkish Foreigners Law
Week 11: Entry of Foreigners to Turkey and Prohibition of Refoulement
Week 12: Residence of Foreigners in Turkey and Deportation from Turkey
